  • Group A-(Beginning) Short Vowel Words
  • Group B-(Beginning) Level 1-Sight words with the same Phonics Skills aligned with the Weekly Journey lessons
  • Group B-Bonus Words (Group B students who pass the Pretest on Wednesday will be given the Group B Bonus (taken from the Journeys Third Grade list.) Words on Friday.  Those who do not earn 100% on the pretest will be given the regular Group B test again on Friday. without the bonus words.]
  • Group C-(Developing) Level 2-Sight words with the same Phonics Skills aligned with the Weekly Journey lessons.  (Group C students who pass the Pretest on Wednesday will be given the Group C Bonus  Words on Friday.  Those who do not earn 100% on the pretest will be given the regular Group B test on Friday again. without the bonus words.]
  • Group D-(Secure) Third Grade Spelling Words from our Journeys Lessons
  • Group D-Bonus D Words Students who pass the Group D Pretest on Wednesday will be given the Group D Bonus Words (Fourth Grade Sight Words) on Friday.  [Those who do not earn 100% on the pretest will be given the regular Group D test again on Friday without the bonus words.]
  • I will be putting updated spelling lists in the student binders and on our class website.
  • I will analyze each student's performance after we complete Unit 3 (lessons 11-15) Spelling (in 5 weeks) and reevaluate each student to determine which group would be best for each student..
